Your Surgery
Laser Skin resurfacing is usually done on an outpatient basis under sedation and local anesthesia. The superficial layers of the skin are removed by the CO2 Laser. The advantage of this laser is that the depth of treatment is extremely controlled and predictable. You will return home with specific written instructions on post laser care. Depending on location, the treated areas are covered with Vaseline. This aftercare will prevent formation of a crust or scabs. Healing will be complete in 7 to 10 days. Redness (pink color) will usually last from 1 to 6 months and makeup can be worn once healing is complete in 7 to 10 days.
