CHIN AUGMENTATION

Enhancement of your chin will achieve a more pleasing and balanced profile. The result can be greater facial harmony and an increase in self-confidence.
You may consider chin surgery as a supplement to rhinoplasty because a small chin can make the nose appear larger.
Your Surgery
Your surgery is performed on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia. Fat is gently removed from the abdomen or outer thigh area and meticulously layered in the chin area. The fat graft then takes root in the new area and persists resulting in a “stronger” chin. The injection sites heal with virtually no visible scar. Following surgery you may experience some tenderness.
A Dermal Filler may also be injected in the chin area to achieve fullness. This is done in the office without the need for anesthesia, and the improvement typically lasts six months to a year.
Another possibility for improvement through chin surgery is submental liposuction in which excess fatty tissue is removed to redefine the chin or neckline. Fat is suctioned from the neck, jaw line and jowl areas—depending on the results you desire. You will return home with your chin and neck wrapped in dressings or in an elastic neck sling. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Swelling and bruising disappear over approximately 2 weeks. Your final result is evident in 1 to 3 months.
